OyOsMusic Assigns Brand Ambassador

GoodChild OyOsMusic Ambassador and CEO Mr. Pfavayi

Entertainment Brand Ambassador- GoodChild

OyOsMusic has struck a deal with one of Zimbabwe’s leading lights in the Music and TV industry Alexio Gwenzi better known by his legion of followers as Goodchild. This will see him being the face of the brand as of Tuesday the 22nd of March 2017 when he put pen to paper to assume the role of Ambassador for the brand.
Launched on StarFm on Valentine’s day this year, the OyOsMusic online store, is the talk of town and everyone in the corridors of the Zimbabwean arts industry is talking about this latest project, with many well established artists putting their signature on the online digital music distribution deal. The partnership that OyOsMusic has with StarFm makes the deal much more lucrative.

Big names such as Pastor G, Sulumani, Hwindi President, Takura, ExQ, Tembalami, Cindy Munyavi, UFIC Choir, as well as studios like Slimaz, LastPower, Corner, Metro, Artisan, Diamond studios some of which are represented by  ZARI (Zimbabwe Association Of Recording Studios). Through these studios, OyOsMusic now has a collection of late legendary artists such as Biggie Tembo, Chiwoniso Maraire, Andy Brown, Paul Matavire and other late great artists who were either signed under Gramma, ZMC, Ngaongwe etc. Negotiations are still underway for other big guns.
Speaking with Mr Pearson Pfavayi, the Snr Project Manager of ZIMHOST Webdesigners, a 14 time award winning ICT company, he explained what criteria they had used to select Goodchild as the brand ambassador, “We were looking for a level headed eloquent artist with a clean image, good following on social media platforms, understands business ethics, very professional and decent enough to be able help us strike deals with the artists and the corporate sector. As you know, no big corporate brand wants to be associated with dirty controversy plus Goodchild is already enjoying an ambassadorial role with Coca Cola Zimbabwe and is one of the top presenters for Saturdays’ Coke on the beat, a Musical TV show sponsored by Coca Cola”.

Mr. Pearson Pfavayi also said that after listening to Goodchild’s album which will be launched end of April they were very much impressed. They bought into his vision of making music for Africa and they believe the album will propel the artist to greater heights on the regional and continental stage. Who wouldn’t want to be associated with an artist with such potential with good relations with most artists across all genres. He too believes together they will grow and benefit off each other from this marriage.
He however could not be drawn to divulge the nitty gritties of the deal in terms of how much they were paying Goodchild or his benefits.
Speaking to Goodchild he said that he was more than excited to work with OyOsMusic as he believes it is what the Zimbabwean industry has been waiting for. “I believe this is the turnaround we all have been waiting for” said Goodchild, and concerning the role that he has been given he said he was humbled and believes it will help spruce up his profile and the money will obviously be the highlight of the contract. Goodchild, however, could  not be drawn into disclosing how much it is but sources close to the deal hinted that it could be in excess of $3000 per year.

Some of the hit songs under his belt includes; “Iwe Fadzayi” which was his first break through song in 2003 when the Urban Grooves genre was on its peak. He also produced hits like “Taura Naye”, “Nakuyewa”, “Shuwa”, featuring Shinso, as well as “Arikundinyepera” with a smashing video. Last year he released the Afro pop hit song “Delillah” which was almost like a club anthem and has just released another scotcher of a hit song called ”Zvachose” featuring the legendary urban groover Decibel and Guspy Warrior.
