Soweto is one of the South Africa’s most popular neighbourhoods, a place rich with history with a dynamic and vibrant culture, birthplace to some of the world's most talented individuals. Renowned artists from the world over have visited its colourful streets for inspiration walking down the streets where revolutionaries like Steve Biko, Chris Hani, Oliver Tambo and Nelson Mandela once lived. It is therefore no surprise that as we speak Zimbabwean hip hop artist Mc Tytoh currently resides at this hub of talent where he is busy with his 2017 album which he says is nearing completion.
Undoubtedly one of Zimbabwe’s most underrated hiphop heads Mc Tytoh is passionate about this genre. "I have always been a fan and great admirer of Soweto hip hop artists and the way the culture is alive and visible in the streets here therefore I set this as one of my goals in my musical career to record and perform here " said Mc Tytoh speaking from Dobsonville where he is recording his album at MICKRACKA STUDIO.
In 2014 he featured Irish vocalist Sofia Riescher on his track VICTORY, which was on his debut solo project MICNIFICENT. In 2016 he set a record when he released a joint album with Prozac titled THE DAY ONE ALBUM where he featured about 40 rappers and 2 vocalists on the 18 track album. Some household names on the album include POY, Cal_ vin, Floppy X, Othordox 6, Centre Party, Nemo, Art Department, to mention a few. 2017 is no different as the rapper has gone to one of Africa's oldest townships to put together his album. Beats on the album were provided by himself, Elemental Force (Zimbabwe) King Krued (Australia) and Eazie (South Africa). No release date has been set yet for this piece of work which was scheduled for an April release but failed to as Mc Tytoh took time out of the studio to deal with his break up with talented vocalist and baby mama Beautiful Diamond. The couple has however gone to great lengths to keep reasons of their unexpected separation best known to them. The first official single FUCK YOUR EX will be released on the 3rd of June and will be available for free download.
