The much hyped about ''meet the people show'' will be held on the 24th of the June at the New Ambassador Hotel in Harare. This event will see popular female comedian Gonyeti share the stage with comics such as Dian Nomsa, Mandla the comedian and Mai Titi, to mention a few. Other artists who will grace the event include the fast rising female disc jockey, DJ Lyaness and popular award winning songstress Cindy Munyavi.
Gonyeti, real name Samantha Kureya who headlines the show, has been contributing immensely to the local comedy scene. She is one of the women who have remained resilient in the male dominated field, among the likes of Mai Titi. To date she has been nominated under the best female comedian category at the recently held National Arts Merits Awards. She entered and gained popularity in the comedy scene from her hilarious role in the as one of the two comic pastor’s wives. Under the umbrella of Bustop TV brand, her popularity as a comedian significantly increased.
